Exciting things are happening here at Mizan!

Since launching last fall, we have published numerous features and forums in our main channel here on Mizan Project, and our second channel, Mizan Pop, debuted a couple of months ago. Our third channel of material, the open-access, peer-reviewed online journal Mizan: Journal of Interdisciplinary Approaches to Muslim Societies and Civilizations, will commence publication next month with a special issue on The Islamic State in Historical Perspective.

We are pleased to announce that registration to join our community is now open. Becoming a registered user will allow you to comment on features published here on the site; you will also be able to use the dynamic annotation functionality that will be an integral part of the online journal. Your membership information will be displayed in the Community Directory here, and in the future, new functionality will be open to users, such as the ability to network with other users on the site.

Registration is simple and quick: please fill out the form here. Be sure to include links to your social media accounts and a short biography. Membership in the community is primarily limited to affiliates of institutions of higher learning, though independent scholars and interested members of the general public can also join by e-mailing the Interlocutor directly here. After you register, we encourage you to spend some time browsing the features we’ve published so far and commenting on the pieces that interest you.

Finally, we want to hear from you! Many sections of our site are still under development, and if you have ideas for content or a piece you’re working on that would make a great contribution to the site, let us know! We want to hear your ideas.

Thank you for your interest in and support for Mizan!
