But is there not a substantial difference here to note. Most Muslims reject ISIS’ ideology, and ISIS uses violence to convert. Aside from certain periods in Fatimid history, there is not indication there was a policy of forced conversion. That their subjects remained Sunni was a feature, not a bug. It seems the inverse is true for ISIS.
